End of The Year

End of The Year

Don’t delay: Schedule an appointment so you don’t lose Flexible Spending Account dollars today!

Halloween has come and gone and we are well into November, headed full-steam toward the holidays. The end of the year is coming and brings with it – for many of our patients – expiring dental benefits and Flexible Spending Account dollars.

If you are like most people, you probably don’t want to leave dental benefits and FSA money on the table, right? Right. If you or someone in your family needs dental work, now is the best time to get that scheduled – so you don’t lose your benefits or funds!

This time of year is busy – both for our office and your family. So, don’t delay! Schedule your appointment now.

Here’s what you need to know. Read on:

For many people with dental insurance, your benefits expire at the end of the year. Most people have a maximum benefit or a deductible they can use each year for restorative or preventative dental work. If you’ve had some work done this year, but someone in your family needs work, you might still have money available to pay for it, or you have met your deductible, so double check your benefits and give us a call for an appointment!

Also, if you have a Flexible Spending Account or FSA from your employer, you might have money left in your account that you can use toward out-of-pocket medical expenses (like dental work) this year.

Some FSA plans require you to use these funds (which are untaxed) each year – they don’t roll over. So, talk to the person who administers your company’s plan to see what your benefits are – and use them!

There are many services and procedures you can use your benefits on this year, ensuring a healthy smile in 2019. While everyone’s dental plans are different (and we encourage you to call your insurance provider to see what’s covered under your plan!) generally, you can have a dental checkup or work like fillings, crowns or bridges.

You might also be able to use your FSA funds toward whitening treatments!
